Happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all 🎄🎄🎁🎁🍸🍸🐴🐴
After a very late night at The North Cotswold Ball we made it to Solihull the following day for a Blue Chip Power Qualifier. It was worth the effort..Babette was 2nd and Canberra also qualified in a competitive jump off. Glad it was just one class! 💃🍸🐴
Another good day at Solihull's Express Wednesday's show.
Bayard jumped super and was 3rd in the Newcomers and 3rd in the Foxhunter. Cindorada was double clear in the Foxhunter but not fast enough to win a prize and Andreas jumped lovely to win the 130m open. #happydays 🍻🐴
Had a good few hours at Solihull's Express Day today. 3 horses for 2 classes. Andreas H won the Foxhunter and Bayard was also double clear and placed 3rd. Cindorada was DC and 3rd in the Newcomers... Cindas has been away doing Dressage competitions so it was her first showjumping outing for a few months.
Candys photo in H&H this week for qualifying Royal International.
Had a good couple of days jumping at Solihull show this week. My best result was Canberra Z winning the SEIB Winter Novice qualifier. There were about 85 in it and 27 through to a competitive jump off. David Cole built a good jump off course which caught a lot of people out and eventually finished with only 6 double clears. The final is held at The Royal Intermational at Hickstead next summer in the Main Arena. I was also chuffed to bits with my new ride Bayard who was also double clear and placed 5th. It was a big step up for him and he coped with it superbly.
Delihah also jumped a lovely double clear in the Newcomers for 3rd place.
Sammy Jo Coffin stayed with me for the week so we had a few drinkies to celebrate our wins!
A few of my horses are going to have a well deserved holiday now while I'm
Looking forward to HOYS next week!
The season has come to an end..We enjoyed the last few county shows of the year. I Jumped a couple of classes at our local Moreton Show. Andreas won the Fox section of the 120m and was 5th overall. Canberra Z had a pole in the fox and Andreas jumped his first 130 for an unfortunate 4 faults.
We managed to get away for a quick 3 1/2 day break to Majorca that evening! The weather, hotel and beaches were amazing and wished we had time to go for longer! Neverless it was nice to have a break away.
The next show was Henley. Delihah jumped her first Newcomers for 4 faults. Canberra Z was 4th in a very competitive Foxhunter. Andreas was double clear in the Fox and then won the 130m open! He won the silver Salver back which I won on Calvaro B last year!
Thame was also a lovely show. Delihah jumped super again in the newcomers. She tipped the first fence then jump immaculate round the rest of the single phase track which was tough for a newcomers! Canberra Z was awesome again and was 4th in the Foxhunter. Unfortunately no luck with Andreas.... We had the fastest time in the jump off section but unfortunately gained 1 time fault in the first half of the course! 😁
We jumped one day at Newbury show which was the last grass show of the year. 😞 Canberra z jumped fantastic and was double clear in her first B&C class and placed 6th. Andreas had the style fence down in the jump off of the B&C. Delihah jumped two lovely rounds in the Newcomers.
Next show is Solihull development classic next week then Hoys the following week. The indoor season is here! ❄️⛄️
I have been riding Calrina again after she has had a rest due to a deep bone bruising. Needless to say she has been v sparky! She is Glad to be back in work.. Sit tight! 🙈
Had a lovely day at Bucks County yesterday. The ground was superb. Bella was 3rd in the Newcomers and then jumped a double clear in the Foxhunter. Canberra Z was 6th in the Newcomers and then was 3rd in the Foxhunter and Calvaro B jumped a super round to finish 3rd in a very competitive accumulator. Plus myself and Sammie Jo Coffin did a joint ALS Ice bucket challenge in the main arena with Nick Brooks-ward doing the commentating. It was great fun for a great cause. Video on my Facebook page!
We had a super weekend down at Bicton with glorious weather. The main grass arena was in fantastic condition and looked amazing. I haven't been to Bicton for a few years and I really enjoyed the show.
On the Friday My lovely athletic 7yr old Canberra Z by Chablis won a competitive Newcomers and Bella XIV was 2nd who is owned by Tors Mallin. Calvaro B owned by Jane Dixon was 2nd in the Foxhunter and my own gorgeous 6yr old Delihah was 5th in a marathon Discovery.
On Saturday Bella XIV was 3rd in the Newcomers and Andreas owned by Chantelle Souness was 2nd in the Foxhunter. Calvaro B jumped a nice double clear in the 130m.
On Sunday Andreas won the Foxhunter Bella was 3rd and Canberra was 5th! Calvaro B was 3rd in the 135m and Delihah finished high up in another marathon Discovery class with 90 in it!!
We Had a nice day at Weston Lawns today. Weather was a big improvement on the last outing there!! 6yr old Delihah who I bought from Brightwells sale in Foal to Chello III a year and a half ago jumped another lovely double clear in the Discovery class. Quatro owned by Lauren Knott was =1st in the 6yr old qualifier. Jane Dixon's Calvaro B was double clear in the 7yr qualifier and Andreas H owned by Chantelle Souness won the Foxhunter Class. 👏👏
A 40 minute storm stopped jumping yesterday and the show had to be cancelled after the Newcomers due to flooded rings! I had a double clear in the Discovery on Delihah and managed to get two out of my three jumped in the Newcomers before the torrential rain came. Bella owned by Tors Edwards finished 5th. ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️
I had a busy day yesterday at the show with 6 horses. My lovely 6yr old Delihah was 2nd in the British Novice. I won the Discovery on 6yr old Quatro. Was 1st 2nd and 3rd in the Newcomers on Canberra Z, Bella, and Andreas! Andreas owned by Chantelle Souness also won the Foxhunter. Thanks Jaz and Jane for all your help! Xx Too hot for showjumping! 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
We had a lovely couple of days at Barbury. It was so well run and very welcoming. I wish more big events put BS showjumping on at the same time. The weather was lovely which always helps to make a pleasurable show. We only took two horses. Jubilee III jumped a super double clear to finish 3rd in an 11 horse jump off in the Grand Prix. She also jumped a clear in the 140m speed class on the Sunday to finish 7th. I jumped the talented 7yr old Calvaro B in the Accumulator and It was the first time I have properly gone against the clock with him. He finished 4th which we were chuffed about.
I was invited along with 3 other showjumpers to compete in the injured jockeys challenge against 4 eventers Zara Phillips William Fix Pitt Laura Collett and Mark Todd.. 4 jockeys Richard Johnson Noel Feily John Francome and Sam Twiston Davis and the winning Inter Hunt team. We all had so much fun and all in aid of an excellent cause. 😎😎🌞🌞
We took a lorry load of novices to Weston lawns yesterday. My 6yr old Delihah jumped a lovely double clear in the main ring in the British Novice. So pleased with her as it was only her second show although I did take her to Hand show last week where she jumped 3 double clears in the British Novices and learnt so much at a stay away show.
The athletic Canberra Z had two wins in the Discovery and Newcomers. She is definitely getting more competitive now in the jump offs even though she likes to give every jump a foot clearance!
I took Tors Mallin's Bella to her first show since Blue Chips and i just popped her around a 105m as she's not that fit and she finished 3rd. Tors will have her back in a month to compete her herself after having a baby.
I also jumped Cathy Wardle's Cornet Echo in the 105m and the Newcomers where we finished 4th and 3rd. She jumped very nicely. Will try and step her up to Foxhunters next show. Great day.
Thank you Issy for coming and helping us! 👍
Next show Barbury just with Calvaro B and Jubilee.
It was definitely worth the long drive to Norwich. Calvaro B jumped another super double clear to finish 2nd behind Tim Stockdale In the Grade C and qualified for Horse Of The Year Show!!! 😃😃😃🍻🍻🍻🎉🎉🎉
We had a busy week which started with Cheshire County on Tuesday 17th followed by a long journey that evening straight down to Hand Equestrian Centre for their 5 day show. I had another unlucky HOYS class at Cheshire County where Balou jumped fantastic but just missed out on qualifying HOYS by one place again! Jubilee III jumped really well and we ended up taking 5th place in their Area Trial which was great as I'm still getting to know her.
We had quite a few placing at Hand and all the horses jumped some great rounds. I did have a number of unlucky 4 fault rounds but that's just showjumping! The Best result was with Jane Dixon's 7 yr old Calvaro B who jumped an amazing triple clear to finish 3rd in the Hoys Foxhunter qualifier. The last round was up to 1.55m in height and was the toughest task he has ever had to cope with. He is so scopey and jumped it easily. We were so delighted with his performance even though we missed out on HOYS by one place again!
